Golf Outings

When George Fazio sculpted this golf course in 1965 he had a vision of world-class golf.  The sign of a great golf course is the playability for various types of golfers.  We all know the PGA TOUR players were tested, while the membership finds a new challenge each time they tee it up.  The true defense of the golf course is the greens.  A true traditional design, the golf course is not extremely long, but the speed and contours of the greens equalize the playing field.  With four memorable, demanding, and picturesque par 3’s, Waynesborough has a variety unto itself.

Host of the 2000 and 2002 PGA TOUR SEI Pennsylvania Classic, Waynesborough receives accolades from some of the best players in the world.

     * Tom Lehman “(Waynesborough) is a fantastic golf course.  It’s fun to play.  It’s the old traditional look, which I think is wonderful.”

     * Loren Roberts “ You’ve got to work (the ball) both ways off the tee.  If you get in the rough, you have some real problems getting the ball on the green.  (Waynesborough is) one of the best new golf courses I’ve seen come on the TOUR in a long time.”

Waynesborough also played host to the 1989 US Amateur Qualifying and 2000 US Open Qualifying.

With an old-style layout and severe greens.  Waynesborough offers a high quality golf experience.  It is safe to say that Mr. Fazio’s vision is realized during each and every round.
